NCBJ

Science and Technology Park in Świerk (PNT) is a part of National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ).

National Centre for Nuclear Research is one of the biggest research facilities in Poland, containing, among other things, the only nuclear research reactor, Maria. The facility handles fundamental research from the field of subatomic physics (elementary particle physics, nuclear physics, physics of hot plasma etc.), as well as applied methods of nuclear physics and development of nuclear technology. It also produces radiopharmaceuticals and equipment for various branches of science and industry (including medical), as well as providing laboratory and computing infrastructure necessary for aiding in an expert construction programme of polish nuclear power plant. Additional advantage of the fact, that the Park is situated inside NCBJ is the possibility of sharing the vast experience and knowledge of the Institute’s empolyees, as well as the ease with which connection to the government institutions can be established.

Our tenants have a unique chance of cooperating with facilities and research institutions situated in the NCBJ. These include:

  • Świerk Computing Centre (CIŚ), which provides data processing services for national conventional and nuclear energetics, fuel processing simulations, simulating and monitoring radiological hazards, or handling data bases made towards development and safety control,
  • HITEC, which specializes in precise electron accelerators, notably accelerators designed for cancer therapy,
  • Radioisotope Centre POLATOM, a polish producer and distributor of isotope products used in medicine, science, industry and environmental protection,
  • Materials Research Lab, which conducts research and diagnostics of construction materials, within the broad extent of materials science.
